Laboratory Technician - Geochemistry

Location: 185 Concession St, Lakefield, Ontario, Canada. Onsite role with a rotating schedule covering days, afternoons, and evenings. Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.

Salary: CAD 42,640–44,720 per year; alternatively stated as CAD 20.50–21.50 per hour for 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Perform routine geochemical testing and analysis according to written work instructions and supervisor direction.
• Identify, prepare, dilute, catalogue, store, retrieve, dispose of, or return samples to clients.
• Log samples accurately and efficiently in LIMS and maintain organized sample records.
• Prepare standards and reagents and interpret and evaluate test results.
• Record equipment calibrations, monitor maintenance and laboratory supplies, and report quality discrepancies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of LIMS and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions safely, accurately, and on time.
• Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, time management, and comfort working with numerical data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting demands while maintaining result quality.
