Construction Technician I

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, United States; Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with overtime as needed.

What you will do

• Conduct basic field inspections of construction activities and installed work.
• Verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Assist with daily reporting, documentation, and construction progress verification.
• Monitor job site safety practices and traffic control measures.
• Take field measurements and support construction data collection.
• Communicate with contractors and project team members, escalating field issues when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and inspection practices.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, reliability, and dependability.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain working relationships.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
