Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid work model. Candidates must independently be eligible to work in the United States for any employer at the date of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Base pay: $128,000–$156,000 USD per year in San Francisco, plus eligibility for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management patterns.
• Build and improve CI/CD, automation, workflow, and containerized application platforms.
• Design infrastructure and application flows, facilitate technical design sessions, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Monitor environment health, troubleshoot hardware, operating system, network, and multi-layer cloud infrastructure issues, and improve performance.
• Support products, implement new features and infrastructure technologies, and follow change-management and risk-management processes.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and hands-on support to engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications and typically 5 or more years of related experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with modern application design patterns and an iterative software development process.
• Experience with Linux administration, scripting, infrastructure as code, containerization, and orchestration.
• Knowledge of Chef, Ansible, or Puppet, plus Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure; experience with security and encryption protocols.
• Availability for different schedules as part of an on-call rotation, along with completion of a background and drug screen.

Nice to have

• Terraform, AWS, or Kubernetes certification.
