Sample Receiving Supervisor (Environmental Testing)

Location: Onsite in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time day shift, Monday through Friday.

Salary: USD 50,000–55,000 per year

What you will do

• Supervise sample-receiving activities, including sample login, verification, chain-of-custody review, and distribution.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, QA/QC protocols, departmental procedures, and SOPs.
• Coordinate scheduling, timekeeping, staffing resources, training, coaching, and employee development.
• Collaborate with laboratory management, laboratory departments, project management, and client services.
• Monitor productivity, turnaround times, performance metrics, inventory, and collection-kit supplies.
• Investigate sample discrepancies, documentation issues, and customer concerns while supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of laboratory, sample receiving, sample login, or related environmental testing experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong computer, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for most of the day and lift up to 55 pounds.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required, and unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with environmental samples, chain-of-custody review, sample login, and collection-kit preparation.
• Experience working in an environmental laboratory.
