Senior Product Engineer, Electrical (AI)

Location: Onsite Monday through Friday at the Pico Rivera, California office; occasional domestic travel may be required for customer and vendor meetings.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annual base salary, plus an eligible discretionary year-end bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the design, prototyping, testing, approval, and launch of lighting and connected home products.
• Manage product development projects through structured phase-gate processes and resolve technical challenges.
• Validate products through DV and FAA procedures and approve UL/ETL safety reports.
• Apply AI tools to design analysis, compliance review, ECO triage, root-cause analysis, test data, and field-return analysis.
• Coordinate with factories, suppliers, product management, sales, graphics, and purchasing to deliver compliant products on time and within budget.
• Mentor Product Engineers, lead design reviews, and develop reusable AI workflows, prompts, and engineering knowledge assets.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in new product development and project management in an individual contributor role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Strong knowledge of electrical specifications, LED drivers, lighting systems, schematics, installations, wiring diagrams, and DC/AC power supply design.
• Experience using general-purpose AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or Gemini for engineering work, including prompt engineering and validation of outputs.
• Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards including UL, FCC, DOE, Energy Star, Title 20, Title 24, DLC, and ANSI.
• Proficiency with Asana and Microsoft Office; familiarity with DMMs and oscilloscopes.

Nice to have

• LED lighting experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted document parsing, specification extraction, test-report drafting, or test-automation code generation.
• Experience building lightweight AI workflows or automations using no-code tools, Python, or scripting.
