Senior Engineer, Product Development Engineering (Semiconductor)

Location: Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; onsite campus-style work environment requiring movement between office buildings.

Salary: $89,500–$131,500 per year, with actual pay dependent on overall skills; annual bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead technology development and new product introduction projects through structured stage-gate processes for ultra-high-purity gas filtration, diffuser, and point-of-use purifier components.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop prototypes; generate intellectual property; and characterize performance through structured testing, data analysis, and documented technical findings.
• Design, build, and qualify laboratory equipment, fixtures, tooling, and process or test equipment, including supporting external capital equipment evaluation and procurement.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, test procedures, and test data documentation.
• Perform hands-on testing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities with manufacturing.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, domestic and international resources, vendors, and customers to define requirements, develop products, and validate performance through testing and modeling.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of experience, or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of experience.
• Strong data analysis skills using Excel and Minitab.
• Strong AI/Copilot skills.
• Knowledge or experience in engineering design practices, solid modeling, GD&T, and creating manufacturing drawings for prototype components; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Ability to design and fabricate process and test equipment used for product testing and production.
• Experience driving engineering deliverables through structured stage-gate processes, including requirements definition, concept evaluation, design freeze, prototype build, DFMEA/CFMEA, validation, and production readiness.
• Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team, communicate and present effectively across management and functional areas, and work in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and move between different office buildings in a campus-style work environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII or similar pressure vessel codes.
• Professional Engineer certification or the ability to obtain one.
• Experience with CFD/FEA.
• Hands-on experience with machine shop tools, processes, and equipment.
• Knowledge of semiconductor hardware and systems.
• Experience with filtration media, fluid dynamics, or high-purity gas systems.
