Lead Electrical Engineer (AI)

Location: East Syracuse, New York, United States

Salary: USD 120,000–135,000 annually, plus a target 10% profit-sharing bonus.

What you will do

• Lead electrical product design from concept and schematic capture through high-density PCB layout, prototyping, validation, and production launch.
• Provide technical leadership in precision analog and digital electronics, power management, embedded systems, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Integrate DSP solutions with larger system architectures and debug complex system-level hardware and software issues.
• Balance new product development with sustaining engineering, including field troubleshooting, component obsolescence, and cost reduction.
• Build breadboard MVPs, validate assumptions with customers, and iterate designs using a lean, hypothesis-driven approach.
• Review designs, test plans, and documentation while guiding electrical engineers in a cross-functional Agile team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in electrical and embedded systems design, including taking products from concept through production and maintaining the product lifecycle.
• Expert-level proficiency with EDA tools such as Cadence OrCAD.
• Deep understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power management, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Experience designing and implementing systems centered on MCUs, DSPs, or FPGAs.
• Ability to act as a product owner for subsystems and make data-backed decisions under ambiguity.
• Ability to move between architectural design and in-depth troubleshooting of production issues.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and task-management tools such as Jira.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with precision analog electronics design.
• Interest in collaborating with physicists, chemists, materials scientists, software engineers, and mechanical engineers.
• Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and guiding other engineers on technical topics.
