Process Technician I - 3rd Shift (Injection Molding)

Location: East Providence, Rhode Island, USA; onsite, 3rd shift

What you will do

• Set up molds and start or modify injection molding processes by adjusting process parameters.
• Process molds to produce samples for first-piece inspection and troubleshoot dimensional and visual defects.
• Improve cavitation, cycle time, parts containment, quality, and production efficiency.
• Pull and set molds for production requirements and identify tooling or auxiliary equipment issues.
• Submit detailed repair work orders to the tool room and maintenance department.
• Support and train other process technicians in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience with molds, mold setting, and injection mold processing in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting injection molding processes and knowledge of plastic materials and their processing characteristics.
• Experience working with computer-controlled machines; Engel and Sumitomo machines and robot operation preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude, ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments, and ability to read work instructions.
• Ability to climb up and down ladders frequently.

Nice to have

• Forklift and pallet jack operation experience.
• Formal plastics injection molding training.
