Maintenance Technician Automation - Nights (6:00pm - 6:00am) (Injection Molding)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, United States. Twelve-hour rotating night shift from 6:00pm to 6:00am.

Salary: $25.00–$40.00 USD hourly, plus a 10% night shift differential.

What you will do

• Repair, adjust, maintain, and test injection molding, assembly, printing, packaging, robotic, and auxiliary equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-related malfunctions and restore equipment to operation.
• Respond to machine alarms, troubleshoot root causes, and verify completed repairs.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance, inspections, TPM activities, and calibration of robotic pick-and-place locations.
• Repair robot arms and controls, including boards, motors, encoders, and related components.
• Enter maintenance work orders in SAP, coordinate repairs with the Maintenance Manager, and contribute to safety and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical, hands-on position.
• Experience with injection molding, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to operate presses, robots, and auxiliary equipment, use measuring devices and hand tools, and work independently from written or verbal instructions.
• Strong math, reading, communication, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity skills; understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, push and pull items, stand or walk throughout the shift, and climb ladders.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Koyo, Omron, or Mitsubishi PLCs.
