Senior Construction Inspector (Cape Girardeau, MO)

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States; onsite field work on civil infrastructure construction projects.

What you will do

• Conduct and document observations of civil infrastructure construction, including roads, bridges, water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
• Monitor project progress, perform measurements and calculations, and inspect construction layouts, dimensions, and materials.
• Read construction drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies or conflicts.
• Prepare daily logs, field inspection reports, test documentation, and project records using computer programs.
• Collaborate with field representatives and project managers while mentoring junior field staff.
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and field measurements.
• US employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with state or municipal transportation construction projects and project documentation.
• Experience using survey equipment to verify construction layout.
• Department of Transportation technician, ACI, or ATSSA certifications.
• OSHA 10-hour certification.
