Inspector I (Civil Engineering)

What you will do

• Perform field observations and inspections, document existing conditions and construction activity, and prepare daily field reports.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications and communicate project requirements to contractors.
• Coordinate with design engineers, architects, project managers, team leads, and contractors on requests for information, design changes, schedules, and concerns.
• Record field data, photographs, videos, reports, and redline revisions in the appropriate project systems.
• Support pavement and oil and gas projects by documenting site conditions, monitoring work for compliance, and identifying repair, traffic, and safety concerns.
• Travel to project sites, drive company vehicles, and support routine vehicle maintenance and expense reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in civil engineering or a related field is preferred.
• 0–5 years of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to reserve rental cars for business travel.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam Revu, plus computer skills for timesheets and email correspondence.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work on uneven terrain and active construction sites, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work in varying weather and noise conditions.
• Ability to travel as needed, including occasional overnight stays, work overtime when required, and access project locations with limited ADA accommodations.

Nice to have

• OSHA 10 Hour Construction or Safe Land Certification.
• Fire extinguisher certification.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
