Sr. Inspector

Location: Chicago, Illinois; work is performed in a field construction site environment

Salary: $97,980–$111,341 per year

What you will do

• Inspect civil, building, rail track, bridge construction, and rehabilitation projects.
• Prepare inspection reports for work in progress and completed work.
• Review contractor procedures, materials, and work products for conformance with CTA specifications.
• Work on construction sites while following company, project, and OSHA safety guidelines.
• Support projects for CTA, CDOT, Tollway, and IDOT clients.
• Attend training and classes to obtain additional inspection and safety certifications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in construction inspection or management on civil, building, rail, or bridge projects.
• High school diploma or GED and relevant highway, bridge, or construction inspection experience.
• Experience with Excel and Microsoft Word; CTA Trimble, eBuilder, and website experience are beneficial.
• Knowledge of concrete, asphalt, traffic control, or track construction is beneficial.
• Strong written, verbal, and basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle; willingness to work nights and weekends.

Nice to have

• OSHA training or certification.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Additional inspection and construction safety certifications.
