Senior Construction Inspector - Landscape

Location: Onsite in Jacksonville, Florida, or Gainesville, Florida

What you will do

• Inspect, observe, document, and verify contractor work against project schedules, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Perform engineering inspection practices, complex mathematical calculations, field measurements, and quantity verification.
• Maintain daily reports covering work activities, labor, equipment, materials, and contractor production rates.
• Conduct onsite material testing and prepare as-constructed sketches and final estimate documentation.
• Coordinate inspection phases with contractor superintendents, agency personnel, and administrative staff.
• Lead field meetings, delegate responsibilities, allocate resources, and train junior inspection staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least four years of construction inspection experience, including two years in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection; alternatively, a Civil or Construction Engineering degree with one year of road and bridge CEI experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• FNGLA Technician and FNGLA Horticultural certifications.
• MOT Advanced Certification.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, noise, hazards, bodies of water, and occasional extreme weather, and to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• FNGLA Contractor Estimates certification.
• Experience or availability to work intermittent or extended nighttime hours when required by project needs.
