Senior Inspector (Construction Engineering)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States; on-site work as needed

Salary: $97,980–$111,341 per year

What you will do

• Review and verify contractor submissions for compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders.
• Coordinate project schedules, track progress, and maintain accurate construction activity records.
• Provide technical support to field inspection teams and resolve project issues.
• Communicate with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives to support project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience, or NICET Level 3 and 6 years of experience, or an MEP trade license and 6 years of construction engineering and inspection experience.
• Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and construction documentation.
• Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with transportation infrastructure projects, including stations and facilities.
• Working knowledge of COMPASS and AASHTOWare Project.
• NETTCP Concrete Inspector, NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector, or ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certifications.
• Professional Engineer license.
