ES Field Technician I-2 (Environmental Services)

Location: Syracuse, NY, USA

Pay range: $18.50–$25.47 per hour, depending on the hiring locality.

What you will do

• Perform emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous spill cleanup, and hazmat decontamination.
• Clean tanks, handle drums, sweep and shovel, pressure wash, and carry out remedial work in confined spaces such as manholes.
• Respond to customer spills and emergencies during and outside normal business hours.
• Set up and operate pumps, trailer-mounted generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet jacks, and skid steers.
• Maintain equipment and work sites while following safety policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Experience with light and heavy equipment and hazardous or non-hazardous emergency cleanup.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training after hire.
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs and work safely in physically demanding conditions.
• Ability to read and understand operational, technical, process, safety, and quality instructions.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Confined-space entry certification or the ability to obtain it may be required; a valid driver’s license may also be required in some locations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets.
• Experience with hand tools, shop tools, instruments, and basic tablet or PC use.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, resilience, and willingness to report unsafe practices.
