Senior Mechanical Engineer

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design of custom drying systems in SolidWorks from concept through production release.
• Own the mechanical design of mill technology, including 3D models, assemblies, and production-ready manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with electrical and controls engineers to integrate reliable capital equipment.
• Identify suppliers, obtain quotes, and specify off-the-shelf and custom-designed parts.
• Provide technical guidance through design reviews, risk assessments, troubleshooting, and customer discussions.
• Support builds, testing, commissioning, design-for-manufacture, documentation control, and project schedules while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience designing custom industrial process systems and machines.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including design libraries, complex assemblies, and surfacing.
• Experience with machine design, high-speed rotating machinery, milling or drying operations, and/or food processing.
• Understanding of control systems and their integration with mechanical designs.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, supplier-specification, and quoting skills.
