Civil Engineer Intern (Land Development)

Location: Tennessee offices — Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Franklin, or Murfreesboro

What you will do

• Assist project managers and engineers with plans, specifications, cost estimates, redlines, submittals, exhibits, and record drawings.
• Support the design of residential, commercial, and site development projects, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Analyze engineering parameters, site constraints, design alternatives, constructability, and applicable technical standards.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other approved tools to prepare drawings, exhibits, reports, memoranda, and engineering studies.
• Participate in site visits, field activities, construction observation, and data collection.
• Support permitting and coordination activities for land development projects while taking on progressively more complex design work.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil or Agricultural Engineering at an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Familiarity with engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with flexibility when priorities and deadlines change.
