Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: USD $85,259.20–$155,000.00 per year, plus potential participation in an annual discretionary bonus program.

What you will do

• Lead structural design for water and wastewater treatment plants, buildings, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, shop drawings, submittals, and construction documents.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, mechanical and electrical teams, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments, and identify project risks with practical engineering solutions.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship while supporting project planning, client communication, proposals, and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain it within six months.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design software, including tools such as STAAD, SAP2000, RISA, ETABS, RAM, or similar.
• Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, AASHTO, and other applicable codes and standards.
• Experience with construction documents, technical reports, project leadership, multidisciplinary coordination, and mentoring engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in structural engineering or a related discipline.
• SE license.
• Experience with municipality, industrial, commercial, utility, transportation, or energy projects.
