Structural Engineer, Intermediate

Location: Washington, D.C.; four days in the office with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays

Salary: $93,170–$144,300 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop structural designs from concept through construction completion.
• Prepare design calculations, structural system layouts, engineering reports, and narratives.
• Produce detailed construction documents using Revit.
• Coordinate structural requirements with architecture and other engineering disciplines.
• Write and review specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
• Conduct site visits and collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 5+ years of building structural engineering experience.
• Experience designing concrete, masonry, steel, and wood structures, including gravity and lateral systems.
• Working knowledge of structural software including ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, or Enercalc.
• Strong problem-solving, creative, written, verbal communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
• Professional Structural Engineer (SE) license or progress toward licensing.
• Experience with sustainable building design.
• BIM and Autodesk Revit workflow experience.
