Engineer Intern - Electrical (Summer 2027) (Aerospace)

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Design reliable, functional, and cost-effective electrical systems for aviation ground support products.
• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, schematics, bills of material, and engineering change notices using computer-aided design tools.
• Select materials, dimension and tolerance drawings, and optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency, assembly fit, cost, and waste reduction.
• Coordinate with suppliers and review engineering work for accuracy and compliance with drafting standards.
• Support customer service and manufacturing teams with electrical, multiplexing, feature, and upgrade questions.
• Support production specialists with option configuration.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field throughout the internship.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Experience with electrical applications, communication networks, wiring schematics, reference drawings, or wire harnesses is beneficial.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive or heavy-duty truck electrical applications and communication networks.
• Experience with CATIA V5, SmarTeam, SolidWorks, CATIA V5 Electrical, Zuken E³ Enterprise, Medusa, or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including value streams, 5S, waste reduction, and project planning.
