Engineer Intern - Systems (Year Round) (Communications Systems)

Location: Clearwater, Florida, United States; onsite

Pay: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD.
• Select components based on weight, cost, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
• Support prototype, pilot, and production builds on the assembly floor and provide technical assistance.
• Design, model, configure, and test audio, video, network, and radio communications components integrated into vehicles.
• Assist with complete-vehicle and component testing and troubleshoot issues with suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
• Update bills of materials and configure IP addresses and serial communications in mobile command centers.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field for the entire internship.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of networking and subnetting.
• Interest in communications systems design.
• Experience with extracurricular activities, internships, or other work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience using AutoCAD or DraftSight.
