Engineer Intern - Mechanical (Summer 2027)

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, schematics, and other documentation using computer-aided design software.
• Create bills of material, select materials, and dimension and tolerance drawings for proper assembly fit.
• Prepare engineering change notices and coordinate with suppliers.
• Optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, waste reduction, and defect prevention.
• Support customer service and manufacturing with electrical and multiplexing questions, field problems, features, and upgrades.
• Support production specialists with option configuration and check your own work and the work of others.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field throughout the internship.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Working knowledge of One World, PRIDE, and PC network systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive or heavy-duty truck electrical applications and communication networks.
• Experience with CATIA V5, SmarTeam, CATIA V5 Electrical, SolidWorks, Zuken E³ Enterprise, Medusa, or AutoCAD.
• Experience designing wiring schematics, reference drawings, and wire harnesses.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including value streams, 5S, waste reduction, and project planning.
