Location: Kittanning, PA, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance

Compensation: $19–$21 per hour; higher rate available for licensed water/wastewater operators.

What you will do

  • Visit contracted treatment plants and support their overall operation and maintenance under the guidance of the licensed operator in charge.
  • Monitor effluent quality and treatment plant parameters, following up when levels approach or exceed permit limits.
  • Collect, handle, preserve, store, and record drinking water and wastewater samples, including chain-of-custody documentation and work orders.
  • Apply drinking water, wastewater, sewage treatment, quality control, safety, and legal procedures.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, customers, plant owners, and Pennsylvania DEP officials.
  • Perform outdoor, physical, elevated, ladder, scaffold, and inclement-weather work while travelling between sites by car.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current, valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator’s license required.
  • Valid Pennsylvania water and wastewater operator certification, or the ability to pass the certification test within three years of full-time employment.
  • Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 pounds, climb ladders to 20 feet, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in variable weather.
