Field Service Engineer I/II

Location: St. Louis, MO, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. The role includes travel to customer sites within the territory 1–2 days per week, Monday–Friday, with overnight travel as needed.

Compensation: $27–$34 per hour, depending on related experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Perform calibration, preventive maintenance, qualification, and repairs on laboratory instruments such as pipettes, balances, centrifuges, timers, and thermometers.
• Travel to customer sites and work in laboratory environments to deliver scheduled field services.
• Manage personal parts inventory and communicate issues that may affect service delivery or turnaround times.
• Contact customers, schedule service efficiently, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Complete administrative paperwork and service reports accurately and promptly.
• Follow good documentation practices, safety guidelines, company policies, and applicable SOPs.

Requirements

• Two-year degree in a related science or technical field, such as chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, or biotechnology.
• 0–1 years of related experience for FSE I or 1–3 years for FSE II.
• Experience calibrating pipettes and/or balances for the FSE II level.
• Technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and clear, respectful, timely verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and transport equipment and perform work in various laboratory environments.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to travel within the customer territory.
