Sample Control Technician

Location: Anchorage, AK, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance of Anchorage. Onsite, full-time schedule, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with overtime and non-business-hours on-call duties as needed.

Compensation: $16–$20 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Receive, unload, verify, and log incoming samples against Chain of Custody documentation, quotes, and laboratory records.
• Assign lot numbers, label samples, route them to appropriate laboratories, and distribute documentation to Project Managers.
• Prepare bottle kits, ship samples and coolers, and forward samples to other laboratories in compliance with EPA and DOT procedures.
• Dispose of spent samples, waste, and potentially hazardous materials according to established procedures.
• Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures, maintain inventory, organize storage areas, and assist with splits and composites.
• Perform courier, pickup, delivery, driving, vehicle maintenance, and client-service duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle background check for company driver certification.
• Ability to work onsite within a commutable distance of Anchorage, Alaska, and drive for periods of up to 8 hours per day.
• DOT certification may be required within 90 days of hire for shipping hazardous chemicals.
• TWIC card and TSA clearance may be required within 90 days of hire, along with additional client or location-specific certifications.
• Ability to participate in on-call coverage during non-business hours for non-routine sampling and delivery.
