Senior Security Engineer, Threat & Offensive Security (AI)

Location: Remote; offices in New York City and San Francisco

Base compensation: $180,000–$230,000 annually, with the range applying to New York City-based staff and varying by location

What you will do

• Drive penetration tests and security testing across applications, infrastructure, and networks to identify exploitable vulnerabilities.
• Manage security testing tools and frameworks that simulate real-world attacks and validate security controls.
• Design AI-enabled workflows and automation to scale security testing, threat management, and response operations.
• Operationalize threat intelligence, monitor alerts, investigate incidents, and respond to security events.
• Review systems, features, architectures, and third-party integrations, providing actionable risk-based recommendations.
• Partner with Engineering, IT, Product, external pentesting firms, and other stakeholders to remediate vulnerabilities and improve security controls.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in security engineering, penetration testing, threat intelligence, incident response, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with security testing tools and frameworks such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, or Cobalt Strike.
• Experience using AI and automation to improve threat detection, testing, and response operations.
• Strong knowledge of attack techniques, exploitation methods, MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP, NIST, CIS, and SOC 2 or ISO 27001 concepts.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, threat intelligence platforms, and cloud environments including GCP or AWS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, GPEN, or GCIH are valued.
