Staff Security Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote

Base annual salary: $160,000–$195,000 USD, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Partner with Engineering, DevOps, and Product to embed security into architecture, design, development, and delivery.
• Guide secure design and code reviews for web and mobile applications while managing application security tooling, including SAST, SCA, secret scanning, DAST, ASM, and mobile security tools.
• Triage and remediate application vulnerabilities with engineering teams.
• Improve AWS cloud security posture across IAM, network segmentation, containers, secrets, data exposure, and WAF controls.
• Build Python automation and internal tooling, and contribute to security log pipelines, SIEM detections, endpoint controls, and CI/CD security checks.
• Develop secure development and infrastructure standards, playbooks, and enablement materials.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on security engineering experience.
• Strong depth in application security, cloud security, or security automation and tooling, with working knowledge of the other two areas.
• Working knowledge of threat modeling.
• Ability to operate independently and drive projects without day-to-day oversight.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally with Terraform.
• Red teaming, offensive security, mobile application security, or financial services experience.
• Experience with AWS IAM, networking, container orchestration, CNAPP, SAST/DAST/ASM, Python tooling, log pipelines, or SIEM detection engineering.
• AI/ML security exposure, including prompt injection, data poisoning, model abuse, and related controls.
• Identity security or development experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, Go, or similar languages.
