Salary: $17.95–$23.01 per hour

What you will do

  • Schedule new, referred, and returning patient appointments, tests, procedures, surgeries, and follow-up visits.
  • Answer incoming calls, assess patient needs, route calls, and communicate messages accurately.
  • Set up patient records, enter insurance authorizations, and maintain documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket payments at the time of visit.
  • Maintain physician scheduling templates and coordinate meetings, satellite schedules, rounding, and call coverage.
  • Communicate procedure preparation requirements, arrange financial counseling, and follow up on pre-operative testing and clearances.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level profile with 0–3 years of experience; medical office experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with patients and the public and perform prolonged computer-based work.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding.
  • Experience with patient scheduling or medical office operations.
