Associate Specialist, Patient Access

Location: Paducah, KY. The posting also references Benton Radiology in Cushing, OK. Shift: 24 hours per week, two 12-hour days from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., plus every other Saturday.

Pay: $18.65–$19.90 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Register patients, assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, select appropriate plan codes, and support pre-registration and clean-claim processes.
• Screen medical necessity using Advanced Beneficiary Notice software and explain consent, Medicare, observation, and patient education documents.
• Collect point-of-service payments, address past-due balances, offer payment plan options, and meet assigned collection goals.
• Audit accounts and documentation, correct errors, maintain reporting data, and operate the telephone switchboard as needed.
• Provide patient access support, including after-hours on-call coverage and assistance with staffing needs.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
• Knowledge of insurance authorization, benefits verification, health insurance requirements, medical terminology, CPT, or procedure codes.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-supported process improvement.
