Engineering Technician - Mechatronics (Marine)

What you will do

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and collect data on actuator products across the Mercury portfolio.
• Maintain an organized laboratory and complete component-level testing efficiently.
• Assist with hardware setup for marine applications and support on-water testing and data collection.
• Contribute to technical solutions through design reviews, brainstorming, and the HPPD product development process.
• Fabricate and machine components required for engineering programs and DVP execution.
• Configure and operate oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in a laboratory environment within a fast-paced product development organization.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrohydraulic, or electromechanical actuators.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, control systems, sensors, power electronics, and brushed or brushless motors.
• Ability to fabricate or machine components and use Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience setting up data acquisition equipment, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in engineering or a technical field.
• Marine industry, mobile equipment repair, or industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience taking components from concept through production while supporting DVP execution.
• Experience balancing multiple projects while maintaining test-data integrity.
