TL;DR
Senior Program Controls Analyst (Aerospace): Developing and analyzing integrated cost, schedule, forecast, and earned value controls for aerospace, defense, NASA, DoD, and commercial programs with an accent on performance measurement, financial planning, and EVMS compliance. Focus on building performance measurement baselines, analyzing EAC and ETC, integrating cost and schedules, and transitioning legacy planning tools to ForProject and Empower.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States; applicants must be U.S. Persons eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR.

Salary: $95,000–$135,000 base salary annually, excluding benefits and bonus/incentive.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze time-phased cost baselines, actuals, forecasts, and integrated cost-schedule plans.
  • Support Performance Measurement Baselines, Integrated Baseline Reviews, and earned value reporting for FFP, Cost-Plus, commercial, and EVMS-compliant programs.
  • Prepare performance metrics including BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, variance analysis, Estimate at Completion, KPIs, dashboards, and trend analysis.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, CAMs, Engineering, Contracts, Procurement, schedulers, and corporate finance to validate ETCs and align program forecasts with business planning.
  • Support proposal pricing, cost volumes, Basis of Estimate development, customer data calls, PMRs, financial reviews, and audit-ready reporting.
  • Help implement ForProject and Empower, improve cost-control processes, and support EVM policy, tool integration, and analyst training.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in program controls, cost analysis, or financial planning in aerospace, defense, or similarly complex technical environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with program cost control, performance measurement, and earned value analysis in aerospace or defense programs.
  • Strong knowledge of EVM principles and ANSI/EIA-748 compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, cost reporting tools, and working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ForProject, Deltek Cobra, wInsight, EVMS, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with tool integration, process improvement, ERP systems such as NetSuite, or enterprise-level finance functions.
  • Familiarity with NASA, DoD, or commercial aerospace program controls, IPMR Formats 1–7, and customer reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting proposal pricing, BOE development, and transition from pursuit to execution.
