TL;DR
Trade Compliance Intern (U.S. Customs and Import Operations): Supporting import documentation, HTS product classification, trade regulation research, and compliance reporting with an accent on customs processes, audit-ready records, and tariff programs. Focus on analyzing import data, monitoring regulatory updates, assisting audits, and coordinating with procurement, logistics, engineering, brokers, and suppliers.
Location: Onsite in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States. Relocation is available. Full-time interns are expected to work 40 hours per week.
Salary: $18.00–$27.00 per hour.

What you will do
- Review, organize, and maintain import documentation, records, and compliance files.
- Support data entry in trade compliance databases and tracking systems.
- Assist with product classification using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and research customs regulations, rulings, and free trade agreements.
- Monitor regulatory updates and summarize changes for the trade compliance team.
- Support internal audits, duty recovery, tariff mitigation, process improvement, reporting, metrics, and dashboards.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, engineering, brokers, and suppliers to collect import data and solve problems.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with data in Excel or other spreadsheet tools.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in global trade, compliance, logistics, or international business.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States immediately without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
Nice to have
- Coursework in global trade, logistics, or international regulation.
- Familiarity with Excel functions, analytics tools, or database systems.
- Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions.
