Customs Entry Specialist

What you will do

• Serve as a primary contact for clients regarding U.S. Customs brokerage services, entry documentation, shipment status, and basic compliance inquiries.
• Prepare, review, and process import documentation according to CBP regulations, internal procedures, and client requirements.
• Monitor tariff changes and regulatory updates, escalating complex issues and compliance risks when necessary.
• Coordinate with operations, compliance, accounting, and carriers to resolve shipment issues and prevent clearance delays.
• Maintain accurate entry records and provide timely shipment updates, status reports, and issue notifications.
• Research routine questions independently, identify process gaps, and suggest operational improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in U.S. Customs brokerage, import operations, or trade compliance.
• Working knowledge of tariff classification, duty programs, and CBP entry processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, make accurate decisions under pressure, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Full professional proficiency in written and verbal English and Spanish is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Customs, or a related field.
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification or equivalent customs training.
