Customs Brokerage Coordinator

Location: Hybrid in Kimball, Michigan, United States; must live within 50 miles of the location. Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Provide customer service and resolve issues to support the timely release and movement of freight and cargo.
• Prepare, analyze, and submit customs documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, clients, and other appropriate parties.
• Manage entry verification, entry processing, and pre-arrival, post-arrival, and post-entry exception resolution.
• Coordinate with correspondent brokers, service providers, customers, internal departments, and business partners.
• Resolve billing, banking, letter of credit, payment, and delinquent account issues.
• Complete data entry and corrections, perform root cause analysis, and produce operational trend reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Data entry and keyboard experience required.
• Microsoft Office, Outlook, email applications, and standard office equipment experience required.
• Knowledge of HTS classification and the Harmonized Tariff System.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and applicable federal requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and independent work skills; ability to handle high-volume and time-sensitive work.

Nice to have

• Six months of brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience.
• Experience working with multiple screens and windows.
