Full-Time Dual (Facility & Profee) Orthopedic Medical Coder (Healthcare)

Salary: $29–$32 per hour

What you will do

• Review inpatient, outpatient, and clinic medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract information and assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Perform both orthopedic professional fee and facility coding, including clinic evaluation and management, diagnosis, and CPT coding.
• Request physician clarification for ambiguous or conflicting documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and official coding and reporting guidelines.
• Support training and education for new coders when needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience coding orthopedic professional fee and facility charts.
• At least 3 years of professional fee and facility neurology coding experience.
• One of the following certifications or credentials: CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, disease processes, reimbursement systems, and coding regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Successful completion of a coding proficiency test.

Nice to have

• Experience using EPIC with 3M 360.
