Occupational Safety Intern (Summer 2027) (Manufacturing)

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States; onsite

Pay: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

McNeilus, an Oshkosh company, designs and manufactures refuse truck bodies for waste collection fleets.

What you will do

• Review written safety programs and procedures and develop related training curricula.
• Assist with accident investigations, corrective actions, compliance assessments, and injury-reduction initiatives.
• Develop and update safety and health training programs for multiple business units.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend workplace improvements.
• Quantify and present safety and health statistics to management.
• Support and manage the Safety Management System and other department projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Safety and Occupational Health or a related field.
• Ability to learn new programs quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently when necessary.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Availability for onsite work in Dodge Center, Minnesota, during the summer internship.

• Familiarity with manufacturing and safety principles.
