AI Solution Architect-Research Office Managed Services (AI)

Location: Remote role associated with Chicago, United States

Salary: $155,000–$175,000 base annual salary; estimated total compensation including annual incentive compensation: $178,250–$218,750.

What you will do

• Design AI-powered solutions across multiple client-facing projects, aligning architecture with technical feasibility and client goals.
• Develop reusable architectural patterns, components, and design practices for experimental and production-ready AI initiatives.
• Evaluate system constraints and platform environments to recommend scalable and secure cloud, on-premises, or hybrid architectures.
• Make architectural decisions for data pipelines, model orchestration, APIs, observability, and enterprise-system integration.
• Apply machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, embeddings, RAG, AI agents, tool use, function calling, and MCP to solution designs.
• Review technical designs, contribute to code and system architecture, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with delivery leads and client stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML development, including 2+ years in solution design or architecture.
• Experience designing AI-powered solutions using machine learning, data pipelines, or generative AI APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Python, AI/ML frameworks, and API development.
• Understanding of enterprise architecture, production-oriented environments, cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, and containerized environments.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate technical requirements into business goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Exposure to generative AI frameworks and agent orchestration tools.
• Certifications in Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services.
• Advanced degree or additional certifications.
