Strategic Buyer (CAPEX)

Location: Hollister, California, United States. US citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contractual requirements.

Salary range: $73,100–$135,700 per year.

hirify.global is a public precision technology company producing instruments, sensors, and subsystems for mission-critical applications. PacSci EMC, the operating company for this role, develops energetic materials, devices, and subsystems for military and commercial customers.

What you will do

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies, RFQs, bid analyses, supplier selections, and commercial negotiations.
• Lead procurement for capital equipment and CAPEX projects, including SOW development and equipment-integrator management.
• Manage supplier performance, onboarding, transitions, second-source qualification, capacity actions, and supply-continuity initiatives.
• Oversee custom components, prototypes, one-off engineered assemblies, and integrator-built production equipment.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, Facilities, and Program teams on sourcing decisions and project execution.
• Maintain purchasing discipline and project documentation, including BOMs, milestones, risk registers, supplier deliverables, and FAT/SAT activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity management experience, preferably in aerospace and defense or complex manufacturing.
• Experience independently leading RFQs, supplier negotiations, sourcing decisions, supplier transitions, and complex sourcing initiatives.
• Experience with capital equipment procurement, equipment integrators, custom-engineered hardware, supplier performance, and supply-chain risk management.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and P2P/S2P processes, purchasing data analysis, and analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Oracle Analytics.
• Strong commercial judgment, cross-functional influence, executive communication, and the ability to manage multiple complex priorities independently.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced degree.
• Aerospace quality and regulatory knowledge, including AS9100 and NADCAP.
• Program management experience and familiarity with FAT/SAT, SOW creation, and change-order management.
• Experience with OEM machines, sensors, robotics, automation, Oracle integrations, and engineered-to-order procurement.
