Strategic Sourcing Manager (AI)

Location: US - Remote; headquarters in San Francisco, California. Ability to travel up to 10%.

Salary: $140K–$180K plus equity.

What you will do

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for hardware components, assemblies, outsourced services, communications partners, shipping, and warehousing.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, onboard, and manage suppliers based on cost, quality, capability, capacity, delivery, and risk.
• Lead RFI, RFP, RFQ, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and commercial agreement activities.
• Build cost models, analyze market trends and cost drivers, and support value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering and Hardware teams on new product introduction, supplier readiness, and sourcing feasibility.
• Assess supply chain risks and develop mitigation and continuity plans while communicating business impact to leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management, ideally in hardware, manufacturing, or technology.
• Experience sourcing hardware components, custom assemblies, contract manufacturing, or other complex technical products.
• Experience leading supplier negotiations, managing commercial agreements, conducting RFx processes, and evaluating supplier proposals.
• Strong understanding of supplier cost structures, cost modeling, cost reduction, risk assessment, project management, and stakeholder management.
• Experience supporting NPI, working with Engineering or Product Development, and managing global suppliers or outsourced manufacturing and EMS models.
• BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
