TL;DR
Network Engineer (Cybersecurity): Designing, implementing, and maintaining lab network infrastructure supporting cybersecurity incident response for U.S. Government agencies and critical asset owners with an accent on network security, virtualization, storage, and infrastructure reliability. Focus on configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, resolving complex enterprise storage and network incidents, and enforcing granular access controls and performance standards.
Location: Arlington, VA, United States; onsite support required

What you will do
- Design, build, maintain, and optimize lab network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and network devices.
- Integrate new technologies and equipment into lab environments and develop standard operating procedures and policies.
- Assess network topologies and device configurations, identify vulnerabilities, and implement security best practices.
- Provide support for VPN, Citrix and VMware virtual desktop environments, Linux/Unix, macOS, and iOS platforms.
- Troubleshoot complex network and enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication incidents.
- Implement access controls, monitoring, backup protocols, system hardening, and performance improvements in collaboration with stakeholders.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
- Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
- At least 5 years of directly relevant network administration experience, or a high school diploma with 7+ years of network or systems administration experience.
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix and macOS, plus strong experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network administration.
- Experience with Citrix or VMware virtual desktop environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related field, unless using the experience alternative.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco switches, Cisco Intersight, vCenter, FlexPod, and NetApp storage systems.
- DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II, Network+, or CCNA certification.
- Experience with network design, implementation, performance tuning, device hardening, technical documentation, SOPs, and network diagrams.
- Project management and time-management skills.
