Senior Network Engineer (Cisco)

What you will do

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, firewall, DNS, and secure network infrastructure.
• Execute switch cutovers, routing updates, firewall and security changes, and connectivity improvements across campus, data center, colocation, carrier, ISP, and secure environments.
• Administer Cisco switching, wireless, security, and related enterprise networking platforms.
• Troubleshoot site-to-site VPNs, routing, latency, packet loss, DNS behavior, firewall behavior, and service-connectivity issues.
• Coordinate Cisco TAC, carrier, ISP, and vendor support cases through resolution.
• Maintain change records, network diagrams, implementation notes, operational runbooks, test plans, risk analyses, and backout plans.

Requirements

• Ability to work onsite in Reston, Virginia.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance and willingness to work in classified, secure, or compliance-bounded environments.
• At least 7 years of hands-on enterprise networking experience and at least 5 years supporting Cisco enterprise networking platforms.
• Experience with switching, routing, VLANs, wireless, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, network security operations, and troubleshooting service-availability issues.
• Experience supporting secure, classified, regulated, government, defense, or security-controlled infrastructure.
• Ability to follow formal change-management, testing, backout, and documentation practices and coordinate across technical and vendor teams.

Nice to have

• Active U.S. security clearance.
• Experience with Cisco ISE, TACACS+, RADIUS, and network access-control policies.
• Experience with TACLANE, encrypted transport, secure enclave networking, or air-gapped environments.
• Experience with Cisco firewall and security platforms, identity integrations, virtualization, Linux, storage, or backup systems.
• Experience in defense contracting, government programs, CMMC, NIST 800-171, or other compliance-driven environments.
