What you will do

• Install, test, and maintain fiber optic cables in underground and aerial applications.
• Fusion-splice single-mode ribbon and loose-tube fiber cables and terminate ST, SC, and LC connectors.
• Perform fiber blowing and install or test pressurized and non-pressurized cable closures.
• Conduct optical continuity, conformance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Interpret maps, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents while making splicing rearrangements on existing facilities.
• Maintain splicing and testing equipment and follow required safety and operational procedures.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience installing and testing fiber optic cables.
• Working knowledge of fusion splicing and optical testing equipment, including Alcoa Fujikura, GN Net Test, EXFO, Fitel, Sumitomo, and Viavi.
• Working knowledge of GS150 and GS350 Fiber Jetters.
• Ability to climb and work at elevations using ladders, poles, and lift trucks.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and maintain a safety-conscious approach.
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including varying hours and workdays.
