IT Support Specialist

Location: Portage, Michigan, United States; onsite role with occasional warehouse or fabrication environment duties, driving, travel, weekends, and off-hours work

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain new and existing PCs, laptops, software, and connected equipment.
• Administer computer networks and desktop and laptop environments.
• Respond to escalated helpdesk tickets requiring complex or time-consuming problem solving.
• Monitor IT systems and manage IT inventory.
• Provide technical support to employees across the organization and perform additional assigned duties.

Requirements

• Two years of IT support or helpdesk experience.
• Associate’s degree in computer technology or a related field, relevant certification, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Office 365, Active Directory, and Windows-based PCs and laptops.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, multitasking, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work onsite, remain on your feet for extended periods, lift or move up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and work in occasional warehouse or fabrication environments.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends or off-hours and travel when necessary.

Nice to have

• Two years of Windows PC support experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer technology or a related certification.
• Experience with VMware deployment and administration, Red Hat Linux, and Cisco networking hardware.
