Assistant Safety Manager (Construction)

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States; work is performed at assigned project jobsites as necessary

Salary: $77,000–$112,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct on-site safety inspections using a web-based health and safety application.
• Evaluate project and subcontractor compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations.
• Track safety issues to closure and distribute inspection results to project stakeholders.
• Support accident and incident investigations, Job Hazard Analysis reviews, and site-specific safety plans.
• Deliver toolbox meetings, health and safety training, orientations, and safety stand-downs.
• Maintain project safety documentation and collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to resolve health and safety issues.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of safety experience, including experience with a general contractor.
• OSHA 30 certificate required.
• Four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business preferred; additional work experience may substitute.
• Professional report writing, documentation, record-keeping, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, plus willingness to learn new software applications.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively with project teams.

Nice to have

• Current First Aid, AED, and CPR certification.
• CSP, ASP, CHST, or another safety-related designation.
