Diesel Technician B

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, air-brake, and diesel-emissions systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, basic tire work, welding, and fabrication.
• Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools and perform inspections with limited supervision.
• Provide safe road service when required to return company equipment to operation.
• Complete company training programs and support drivers operating the fleet.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a technician role diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience with or knowledge of Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and inspect systems including suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic understanding of work-order labor-time standards.
• ASE T1–T8 certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous but not required.
