TL;DR
Vehicle Maintenance Technician I (Automotive/Diesel): Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and basic repairs on utility vehicles and equipment with an accent on light and medium vehicles, hydraulic and air brake systems, and basic electrical components. Focus on troubleshooting gas and diesel vehicles, supporting DOT and dielectric inspections, completing required technical training, and working safely in garage and field environments.
Location: Onsite in Clarksville, Indiana; must live within 30 miles of the district office. Work may take place in the garage or at field locations, with 15–25% travel.

What you will do
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections on light- and medium-duty vehicles and equipment.
- Assist senior technicians with maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across the vehicle and equipment fleet.
- Diagnose and repair gas and diesel vehicles, forklifts, trailers, and powered equipment.
- Repair hydraulic brake systems, hydraulic components, and assist with air brake inspections and repairs.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical systems, including cranking, lighting, charging, and air-conditioning components.
- Assist with Federal DOT and dielectric test inspections and complete required technician training.
Requirements
- Associate degree or vocational certificate in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics, or at least one year of related work experience instead.
- Must obtain and maintain a Class A CDL within six months of hire.
- Must be able to work onsite at the assigned facility and live within 30 miles of the district office.
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete for extended periods, work around noise, fumes, dust, and heights, and repeatedly lift or push up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to carry 50 pounds for at least 25 feet and perform repeated bending and twisting.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship.
