Vehicle Maintenance Tech I - IBEW 1347 (Automotive)

Location: Cincinnati, OH; onsite. Field work may be required, with 5–15% travel.

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections on light- and medium-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair gas and diesel vehicles, forklifts, trailers, and powered equipment.
• Repair hydraulic and air brake systems, hydraulic components, and basic electrical systems.
• Assist with Federal DOT, dielectric, diagnostic, and repair inspections.
• Complete the required Vehicle Maintenance Technician I training within the established timeframe.

Requirements

• Associate degree or vocational certificate in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics, or at least one year of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must obtain and maintain a Class A CDL license within six months of hire.
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete for extended periods and work around garage noise, fumes, and dust.
• Ability to tolerate heights in aerial devices and lift or push at least 100 pounds several times per shift.
• Ability to carry at least 50 pounds for at least 25 feet; repeated bending and twisting are required.
• Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship.
