Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Location: Fort Worth, TX, USA; candidates should reside within 50 miles of 1001 Railhead Drive

Salary: $28–$35 per hour, plus potential annual bonus of 10% of eligible earnings including overtime

hirify.global operates USAL vehicle transportation and maintenance operations involving diesel tractors and auto transport trailers.

What you will do

• Perform routine bumper-to-bumper service and repairs on diesel tractors and auto transport trailers.
• Conduct tractor and trailer inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Identify problems using diagnostic software and technical resources.
• Enter labor and inventory data, complete work orders, and replace parts.
• Maintain equipment safely and support delivery of vehicles in a safe, on-time, legally compliant, and damage-free condition.
• Work physically with tractors and trailers, including climbing, standing, crawling, and lifting up to 100 pounds.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• Certified mechanic from an accredited school with two years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience, or three years of equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of machines, tools, maintenance, repairs, technical manuals, and service bulletins.
• Ability to obtain state inspection, A/C, and air-brake certifications within the first 90 days.
• Ability to complete forklift certification training and learn welding techniques.
• Ability to read and write English and legally work in the United States; clean pre-employment screening and drug test required.

Nice to have

• Experience with PACCAR diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, and electronic control systems.
• Accredited certifications in at least two areas such as diesel engines, drivetrain, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical/electronic systems, HVAC, or preventative maintenance inspection.
