Senior Substation Project Engineer (PE) (Power)

Location: Spokane, Olympia, Gig Harbor, Bellevue, Seattle, or Everett, Washington, United States

Compensation: $108,661–$155,230 in Spokane; $114,380–$163,400 in Olympia; $125,818–$179,740 in Gig Harbor; or $137,256–$198,080 in Bellevue, Seattle, or Everett.

What you will do

• Coordinate design engineers and multidisciplinary teams throughout project development.
• Serve as the technical lead for project execution teams and coordinate deliverables against schedules.
• Develop and review substation design documents, specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
• Participate in client, marketing, design, production, management, and governing-agency meetings.
• Conduct project-site design development and contract document work sessions.
• Direct engineering professionals and mentor other staff members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 10 years of professional experience, including extensive project execution experience in the power market sector.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position’s location, such as a PE or P.Eng. license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and power-sector design software such as PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture.

Nice to have

• Substation physical or outdoor design experience, including yard layouts, grounding, lightning protection, control buildings, raceways, auxiliary AC/DC systems, and bills of materials.
• Experience with Aspen, ETAP, EasyPower, and similar industry software.
• Experience at an architecture and engineering or engineering consulting firm.
