Location: Virginia Beach, Newport News, or Arlington, Virginia; Washington, DC compensation range also listed

Salary: $145,908–$208,440 annually in Washington, DC or Arlington, VA; $121,590–$173,700 annually in Newport News, VA.

What you will do

• Coordinate electrical engineering work with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Lead electrical systems design and participate in schematic, design development, and contract document preparation.
• Develop client relationships and participate in marketing, design, production, and project meetings.
• Review projects with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workloads, schedules, financial aspects, and project deliverables.
• Direct electrical engineering professionals and mentor staff members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
• At least 10 years of experience designing building electrical systems, including lighting, power, and systems.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position’s location, such as a PE or P.Eng. license.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical power, lighting, signal, life safety, and building management systems.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
• Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture.

• Water/wastewater project experience.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
